I Help Men Over 40 Stay Strong Without Sacrificing Their Lives
Hi, I’m Arun Kumar.
For nearly 20 years, I’ve been figuring out what actually works for men who want to stay fit, strong, and capable—without turning fitness into a second job.
I’m a certified personal trainer (Diploma in Personal Training) and Precision Nutrition Level 1 coach, but more importantly, I’ve spent two decades learning what works in real life, not just on paper.
If you’re tired of extreme advice that doesn’t fit your schedule, confusing supplement claims, or programs designed for 25-year-olds with nothing else to do—you’re in the right place.
How This Started
My fitness journey began in 2005.
Not with a dramatic transformation or a New Year’s resolution—just curiosity and a simple desire to feel stronger.
Back then, I made every mistake you can imagine:
- I pushed through fatigue thinking “more is always better”
- I followed routines designed for college athletes while working 50-hour weeks
- I chased the latest supplement trends instead of mastering the basics
- I ignored recovery until my joints reminded me it wasn’t optional
The turning point came around age 35 when I realized: what worked at 20 was destroying me at 35.
That’s when everything changed. I stopped training like I had something to prove and started training like I had a life to live.
Why I Started Writing
In 2013, I began documenting what I was learning on Blogspot.
Not to build an audience. Not to sell courses.
But to organize my thoughts and make sense of years of trial, error, and small breakthroughs.
I wrote for people like me—men juggling careers, families, and responsibilities who still wanted to stay strong and healthy.
Over time, those notes became articles.
The articles became a habit.
And that habit became ManlyHacks—a resource now read by thousands of men every month who are navigating fitness after 40.
Turning Experience Into Expertise
Experience teaches you what works.
Education teaches you why it works.
That’s why I pursued formal training:
- Diploma in Personal Training – To understand program design, biomechanics, and injury prevention
- Precision Nutrition Level 1 (PN1) – To separate nutritional science from marketing hype
These certifications didn’t replace my two decades of hands-on experience—they refined it. They gave me the framework to explain concepts clearly and responsibly, especially when working with men facing hormonal changes, joint issues, and busy schedules.
What I Believe Today
After nearly 20 years of training, here’s what I know for certain:
Fitness should support your life, not control it.
You shouldn’t need to rearrange your entire existence to stay healthy.
Strength training beats cardio for longevity.
Especially after 40, maintaining muscle mass is your insurance policy against aging.
Recovery is half the program.
Sleep, stress management, and rest days aren’t optional—they’re when your body actually improves.
Sustainability beats intensity.
The routine you can maintain for 10 years beats the “optimal” program you’ll quit in 10 weeks.
Hormones matter, but lifestyle matters more.
Before obsessing over testosterone levels, master sleep, training, nutrition, and stress.
My Approach to Testosterone and Hormonal Health
On ManlyHacks, I discuss testosterone and hormonal health carefully and responsibly.
I don’t believe in quick fixes, miracle supplements, or fear-mongering about “low T.”
Instead, I focus on what most men can actually control:
- Training protocols that support healthy hormone production
- Sleep optimization (the most underrated hormone hack)
- Stress management techniques that don’t require meditation retreats
- Nutritional foundations backed by science, not marketing
When symptoms go beyond lifestyle factors—persistent fatigue, dramatic mood changes, significant physical changes—I always recommend consulting qualified medical professionals.
I share information. Doctors make diagnoses. That distinction matters.
